Who We Are
Rebecca Holmlund
Vocals
Rebecca has been singing for as long as she can remember. She discovered music through the albums her older brothers left unguarded - everything from folk to rock to blues - and taught herself to sing along with Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, and Bonnie Raitt.
After moving to Rochester, New York, she worked with several pop and R&B cover bands. But she found her passion when a blues harmonica player took her under his wing. “Red” taught her about the blues, bringing her to small jazz and blues clubs to sit in and learn from the old timers who had been there, done that, and lived to tell the tales.
Rebecca returned to the Twin Cities, hoping to continue her blues journey. But music was sidelined when she found herself caring for a terminally ill partner. “They say you have to live the blues to sing them,” she says. “I fully understand that now.”
Rebecca stepped back onto the stage in 2025, performing at blues jams around the Twin Cities, where her powerful voice and soulful style quickly gained attention. She teamed up with Eric Meyer, Trevis Forslund, and Luke Peterson to form Hoodah Thunkett. She says it’s a fitting name, considering the strange road she took to get here.
Eric Meyer
Bass and Vocals
Eric is a premier Bass player from the Twin Cities Area. Nicknamed “The Machine,” Eric is known for playing with great feel and meticulous attention to detail. Eric’s musical skills and talents were nurtured by a musical family from a very young age. He was given his first bass at age 11 and was playing with professional musicians by the age of 14. His playing has been described as energetic, with an unmatched stage presence. He’s earned a reputation as a sideman who makes other performers shine.
In his 40+ year music career, Eric has shared the stage with many nationally and locally known musicians. Eric is currently working with Toronzo Cannon and is a co-founder of Hoodah Thunkett.
Trevis Forslund
Guitar and Vocals
Trevis Forslund has been a musician from his earliest days. Trevis believes his mother gave him the gift of music, encouraging him to sing as soon as he could speak. He received his first guitar when young and became serious about playing the guitar when he was 12.
Trevis’s uncle Buzz introduced him to the Blues and both his uncle and his father encouraged his music, taking him to play at open jams almost every night of the week. That experience is reflected in his ability to play in a variety of live situations. He has shared the stage with many local blues musicians and played in many local Blues clubs.
Influenced by AC/DC, Van Halen and many musicians and mentors, Trevis is among the Twin Cities best guitarists.
Luke Peterson
Drums
Luke Peterson has been playing drums for over 25 years. He started playing music at a young age, jamming after school with his father, who was a professional guitar and bass player. As a teenager, he played in several original and rock cover bands, expanding his repertoire to include swing, funk and jazz. In addition to drums, Luke is an accomplished guitar player and vocalist.
Luke’s musical influences cover a lot of ground, including Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown), Stewart Copeland (The Police), John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), and Charlie Watts (Rolling Stones). He’s played with many bands in the Twin Cities area, including The Brother Jon Band, The Cretin Avenue Hop, and Mr. Rogers and the Make Believe Friends.
